I love reading your books, they’re so insite-ful ;).
Written in a conversational voice, so it’s easy to read and easy to glean important information. Every time I go back a few pages, which is often since I’m frequently interrupted during my reading time, I always manage to pick up a few more nuggets. I’ve listened to a lot of your seminars and I’ve seen you present at MBLV 2019, and now I’m proud to say that whenever I’m crafting an email or thinking about an interaction with a prospective couple, I say to myself, “I’m sure Alan has some advice on how to handle this.” And then I pull a bit of sage advice, implement it and more often than not I get a little further along in the conversation. And the ones where I don’t, well, they’re not my customer. 😉
Wow, thanks Aaron, that’s great. I appreciate you taking the time to write this and hope we can meet again at MBLV or next time I’m up in Edmonton.
I loved Alan’s “Shut Up and Sell More” DJ version. I made several changes based upon his ideas of his ideas. When I found out about the Catering/Venue version, I purchased several copies as gifts for area venue owners. They all loved it and I have already booked two events as a direct result of those books.
Thanks, Jack. I’m so glad that idea is working out for you.

I have just read “your attitude for success” in about an hour. Very easy read. I’m going to re read the book next week after my wife reads it and high light certain passages. I’m also going to make some foot notes of the book and take some quotes from the book and use them as wall paper quotes on my laptops
I can not praise this book any more than to say “absolutely brilliant”
Thank you Alan
Thanks, Michael, I’m so glad you found so many quotes to use. That makes me so happy.
A colleague and I recently saw Alan present at a Sydney conference and took so many insightful lessons away to help us with our endeavours to grow our business to help us scale up.
I found Wit, Wisdom and the Business of Weddings a brilliant and easy read and again, a useful resource that I have been able to reference to support my team instantly. It’s relevant, clear to the point and boasts many key learning’s which will help us all secure more weddings. My team isn’t just weddings though; I found this book overall relevant to “sales” which too has been valuable with supporting our corporate and social event growth.
Alan, your examples are brilliant and certainly help articulate your messages.
Here’s to a successful 2020 and hopefully a third venue for us. These learning’s are key in this process.
Thanks Melanie, I really appreciate your comments and look forward to seeing you again next time I come to Australia.
During the editing process of Why Won’t They Call Me, with Alan, I found myself wishing someone had produced such effective, true documentation to sell to our millennial clients much sooner! I went to my google drive and simply deleted my “Sales Training Manual” because Alan’s book says everything you need to effectively grow your business through good sales techniques! Sales Training is now: Purchase Why Won’t They Call Me!
Thanks Mia, it was so great to have your comments on the book, they were so thorough and insightful.
I listened to Alan talk about sales at WeddingMBA 2016 in Las Vegas. He reminded of myself when he began speaking. The more that came out of his mouth the more I was writing down on my notebook! I purchased his new book that just debuted called “Shut Up and Sell More.” I finished the book in 3 hours on the plane ride home and have already made some changes to the website. I also booked an appointment with a bride for next Monday! Thanks Alan! Bravo bravo!
Thanks Cody, it was great meeting you. Wow, you must be a speed reader, finishing the almost 200 pages that fast. I look forward to reading your book review, too!
I saw Alan at wedding wire world 2016 and it literally just ended earlier today at lunch- and I have already utillized his tools and booked a sale in under 30 minutes. I purchased a CD on day 2 of wedding wire world and listened to it all the way home today (a 3 hour drive). I can’t say enough amazing things about Alan – and I even emailed him right away to say thank you. I have never emailed ANYONE who I saw give a presentation in my life other than Alan- so it should show you the positive tools and amazing information and wisdom he has! I am already counting down the days to the next convention where I can hear more of his ideas!
Wow, Kiersten, I like to say that my content is actionable, but you’ve just proven that, and how! Thanks for sharing and I look forward to hearing even more success stories from you.
Right after the 1st time I saw Alan speak, I was hooked and hit him up at his booth to buy his DVD set, website book and his book on success. If you don’t have any of his products, go get some – you can’t go wrong! I’ve since picked up his new audio CD’s and the more I listen, the more tips I pick up. It’s just like having him with you one-on-one. His conversational style and unique knowledge is like no other. He brings you new visions and new ideas so you can help your clients. Highly recommended!
Thanks, JP, it’s always great to see you at conferences, I’m happy you’re enjoying continuing your learning with my CDs.
Alan, I have your Mega pack and your Sales series in my car! They are a regular part of my drive. I feel like I get something new every time I listen to one. They’re actually competing for my attention with my game of Thrones audio series! Guess who is winning?
Thanks, Kimberly, I hope it’s ME! Seriously, thanks for the feedback, I’m so glad you’re picking up new nuggets each time. That’s the idea of these compilations. No matter how many times you listen, you get a new tip.
I just finished the “How to communicate More Effectively with Brides via Email” DVD. I learned MORE from the DVD in 1/2 hour than some of the seminars I go too! I felt like I was IN the Audience. The next time Alan in the Albany, NY area, I’m GOING! He’s amazing and…He gets it! I have 3 more DVD’s to get through, I can’t wait. Thank you Alan!!
Thanks, Tim. These were all recorded live for that exact reason, I want you to feel like you were there, so thanks for that confirmation. I can’t wait to see your reviews of the other DVDs you purchased.
I purchased Alan’s “The Success Series Mega Pack” and I just can’t stop listening to it. The CDs are filled with a wealth of great ideas and information. Some of the ideas are so easy to implement, and Alan makes them sound so simple that you get it right away.
Thanks, Dan, I appreciate your wonderful commentary on my CDs.
I have listened to the Sales Series Vol.1 & 2 CD collection 3 times already since last week. That’s 12 programs, 3 times each. It’s as great as climbing on a plane 12 different times to go to hear you speak. Without a doubt, the best investment I have made for my company in the past few years! Compact Conventions in the privacy of my car.
Thanks, Jeff. You were the very first person to get that new Sales Series Audio collection and I’m so happy you’re not only enjoying it, you’re immersing yourself in it.
Alan really opened our eyes to a lot of things we were doing wrong. We found his presentation very helpful and easy to listen to. We’re already making changes and it feels great! We would recommend his services to anyone looking to better their business!
Thanks, Selena. Just as with your delicious baked goods, a few better ingredients will make your site better, too.
One of the BEST and fastest returns on investments I have ever seen was the book “If your website was an employee, would you fire it?”. As a webmaster for my own wedding directory websites and for other wedding professionals, this book is a must have for any wedding professional who has a website or is considering updating their website. It is a very quick read with excellent recommendations for improving your wedding related business website. Alan hits the nail on the head covering the presentation of your business to your clients and techniques to secure the job before your potential customer leaves your site. I have and will continue to recommend this book to many of my customers.
Thanks, John, well said and I appreciate the endorsement.
Gracias, Kyoko, I really appreciate your nice thoughts and comments. I hope to see you at Wedding MBA again this year.
Gracias, Claudia. I’m looking forward to coming back to Cancun to present at the Weddings & Events Proactive Professionals conference this year.
Gracias, Raul. Agradezco sus amables palabras.
Your presentations at the Wedding Gown Specialists meeting at the beginning of the month were so motivating and then I read your books. I am so pumped to revamp my website. You also had such great tips on how to send emails and also how to respond to emails and reviews. Thank you, I definately look forward to seeing you again.
Thanks, Rhonda, I look forward to seeing you again, soon as well.
Your books and motivation speaking were so good and strong and step by step detailed that got me started in something I have been meaning To do several years ago…believe me that I will continue to read you as soon as the next book comes out.
And a big plus that has me thrilled is that you got me reading again!!!! something I couldnt manage to do from some years now!
Thanks, Minty. I’m so glad that you’ve connected with my writing this way. I’ll be sure to let you know when my next book is out.
Alan,
Well I had a chance to read your book on the way home from Cali on the airplane. If your Website was an employee would you fire it. I thought it was very helpful and enjoyable. It made me think and realize alot of important factors I am missing or what I would do to change. I would highly recommend this book. For those that think there website is perfect then they need to buy this book. I did. I can tell you that Alan Berg hit every point and question I had brought to attention was answered in his book. All I can say is buy it!!! I can’t wait to see Alan speak again at MBA in October. Thank you Alan for taking the time and speaking to me at WEVA. You are an inspiration and you gave me hope on change. I will be contacting you to go over my areas on a private level.

Thanks, Rich. I’m glad you enjoyed the book. It was great meeting you at WEVA and I look forward to seeing you at WMBA this year.
Despues de leer varios libros en el tema digo con seguridad que este libro es uno de los mejores libros escritos, va directo a los puntos que tenemos que saber sin necesidad de tener rellenos simplemente para tener contenido en el libro.
Muchas Gracias, Raul. I really appreciate your kind words and I look forward to seeing you soon at another industry event.
Alan’s words impart an inspirational and motivational spark – he knows what he is talking about and helps you find the answers that suit your own business, best. His work is a gift, count yourself lucky if you have stumbled upon what he has to offer!
Thanks, Laura, it was really great working with you on your site and business. I look forward to hearing of your greater success.
I attended one of Alan’s seminars in Chicago last Wednesday. His main topics were about Marketing, Sales, Web Sites and Customer Service. I was immediately motivated to finish my “To Do” list that included those areas mentioned. Not only did his presentation give me the push I needed, I shared my notes with my staff. It is amazing the knowledge this man has. While I often feel overwhelmed with my “To Do” list, his tips taught me to tackle one at a time and to delegate. Within 48 hours of sharing with my crew, we closed a total of six deals by just tweaking a few little things that made a huge difference. Thanks Alan!
Thanks, Jazmine. It was great having you and your team at the conference. I’m so glad that you were able to put the ideas into use so quickly. Please keep sharing your stories of success with me.
I heard Alan Berg speak at a recent meeting of the New Jersey Disc Jockey Network (NJDJN) and immediately purchased his book after the presentation. It was a timely purchase, as we are close to launching a new version of our website. As a business owner, it is easy to become bogged down in daily operations and to lose sight of the forest for the trees. Alan Berg is a talented sales and marketing consultant who asks great questions and forces you to think. This book is the equivalent of smelling salts, and helps an owner to view a website from the perspective of the customer.
Alan’s review of ‘aspirational marketing’ was thought-provoking and caused me to more carefully select the images for our website. We will also be beefing up our calls to action throughout the site. Finally, our blog (currently hosted on Blogger) will be integrated into the new website for better Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
At 128 pages, this book can be read in several sessions. Many of the principles can quickly be put into action. I would highly recommend this book for any small business owner seeking to increase the ROI on their website!
Thanks, Gregg, I appreciate your nice comments. I like when someone reads my book but I love when someone “gets it” the way you have. I applaud you for taking tangible actions so quickly.
I bought Alan’s book “If your Website was an employee would you fire it?” at a Wedding Industry Leaders Conference and read it in a few hours. It was just what I needed – something I could glean information from quickly and apply just as quickly. It couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. I’m in the processes of redoing my web site and I’m going to be applying several of Alan’s tips. They make so much sense to me.
Thanks Rev. Mary-Rose. I look forward to seeing your updated site.
Awesome book. Quick read, but very powerful. I feel like it helped me take immediate action to upgrade my site. A must read for all wedding professionals.
Thanks, Beau. Taking action is exactly what I want when someone reads my books. I’m glad to have inspired you that way.
Alan Berg has created a master reference book on marketing your website. He provides you with a comprehensive step by step process and insight on how to grasp your marketing challenges. The book was fantastic from beginning to the end and I have read it over three times now and every time I pick it up I learn more. Without reservation, I recommend this book.
Thanks, Christine. I’m so glad you were able to connect well with my book. Thanks for your kind words.
Years ago you had minutes, then seconds, now fractions of a second to get a Bride’s attention.
Alan’s book further helped me to showcase the benefits of using our service. It’s now easier to view…easier on the eyes (since she’s probably surfing on her phone at work) while showing a Bride why we’re worth her consideration.
Thanks, Larry. I’m glad that you’re taking actions to stay current with how today’s brides are interacting with your site. That’s the sign of a proactive business. Kudos.
What a great book!, I recommend it for any industry. It was fun to read, very informative and straight to the point. Can wait for the book on ROI.
Thanks, Raul. I’ll get working on that one. or maybe a DVD of it.
Alan did an absolutely incredible job and keeping this information very simple and too the point. We sometimes get caught up in “our” own perspective on how prospective clients think. Alan really helps us think closer to the client perspective when looking into our own websites and how they should be viewed. Our websites are our greatest commodities in marketing our services. Alan’s tips are very helpful. Highly recommend this book!!!
Mike. You really hit the nail on the head on the meaning of the book. Thanks.
I found Alan’s new book to have so many great ideas I had to read it with a marker. SInce my website is new I am going back through to see if I can start making some of the changes. It is a “must read” for anyone trying to grow their business through their website. Thank you for the information Alan.
This book is simply a gem.
It is loaded with Great ideas you can implement immediately, to improve your web site.
Don’t let the size fool you, there is no wasted space with filler, stories, or fluff… just idea after idea.
It has become, my, “Marketing bible” .
Get it now!
I first heard Alan Berg speak at the Ashford Estates. His presentation was awesome. You could hear a pin drop in the room. I thought that I was doing everything right but after listening to Alan I realized that I had allot work to do. So, I bought his book “If your website was and employee would you fire it?”
I read it in two days. I realized that I didn’t really know or understand my target audience. In fact, I was not really targeting anyone specific. I needed to define my audience and target them and interact with them using my website.
Design your web site to speak to your audience. In the end it should always be about them and not about you. So, hire a professional to design your website. You have to spend money to make money.
The book has many, many tips and suggestions to make you stand out in the crowd. Don’t settle for being average. You want to be the best and this book will guide you through the process to being very successful. Allot of the suggestions won’t cost you a dime, just your time.
Here’s one simple change I made after reading Alan’s book. Find out when everyone is hitting your website. If it’s during the day, specifically from 9 to 5, turn off your music. Many brides look at your web site during normal working hours. If you play music they may exit your web site because they don’t want to get caught by their boss. When I looked at my web traffic stats, I saw that most of my hits were between 9 to 5pm. So, I implemented this tip and since then I noticed an increase in how long people remain on my site. This is just one of many suggestions Alan has in his book.
Thanks Alan
Finally, someone put in writing exactly what I need to do to make my website work for me. It’s simple, it’s concise….and gets straight to the point! It all makes perfect sense for what’s happening right now with the brides that were servicing. I feel like Alan took all the guesswork out of dealing with the new media and I’m excited to get moving forward!
