When I write and speak about success I say that successful people don’t necessarily have more ideas, they just take action on more of their ideas. They know that they all won’t be winners, but you can’t find the winners without taking action. This is the thought that grew into my new book: “Your Attitude for Success“
You may have seen this on a motivational poster: “What would you attempt if you knew you couldn’t fail?” It’s a truly empowering concept and, the crazy thing is, you’ve all done this already in your lives. If you started your own business you didn’t do it expecting to fail. You expected great success, or at least a comfortable living doing something you enjoy.
Reflect a little, if you will, on the times in your life when you just went for it. The times when you had an idea and you took action with that gung-ho attitude that success was your only acceptable end. It doesn’t have to be in business. Let me help you out. We’ll start with something small. Maybe you crumpled up a piece of paper and looked at the trash can and just knew you were going to make it in. Or, maybe it was on the putting green when you lined up the putt and knew it would make it. Or, maybe it was at the bar or club and you approached that new person and knew you would hit it off.
OK, now let’s take it to business ideas. we already established that starting your business was one of those times. What about raising your rates? Did you feel confident? How about adding a new product or service? Did you know which one would be the biggest hit? Even if you had your fears or doubts you overcame them and took the action.
So, what ideas are you sitting on that you just can’t get started with? What’s holding you back?
